Thankful I should Be

Thanksgiving is this Thursday. Most people I know are looking forward to Football, Family and Food. Not at our house though. We had our Thanksgiving about a week ago.  Since our version of the family is a quite large extended family, we celebrate before Turkey Day. It just works out better that way.  There is time to catch up with cousins, Aunts and Uncles and enjoy being together as a family. Thanksgiving is not a day; but the coming together of our family to celebrate the love and togetherness we share.
Our menu includes the traditional Thanksgiving fare; but with an Italian flavor. Thanksgiving would not be Thanksgiving at our house without homemade wedding soup and a few other Italian specialties.  The desert table was a smorgasbord of homemade treats.
Ben tasting a little whipped cream.
The youngest kids were happy because this year we were blessed with a beautiful autumn day. So, we set up the jumpy in the backyard.
Aubrey enjoys the jumpy.
Yes, the football game was on the T.V.; but no one seemed to be watching it.  Later on that evening the board games came out.  There is nothing like a multi generational game of Scattergories.
The day ended as it usually does, with some of us gathering on the back porch sharing memories of  passed Thanksgiving and making plans for next year.
Here I am wearing my Happy Thanksgiving  apron.
My cousin Joe, his daughter, Nikki, and her daughter Mattie.

Wishing everyone a Blessed Thanksgiving.

Wind

This week's ESN scavenger hunt theme is wind.
Here on the east coast, we are still feeling the effects of hurricane Sandy. I am feeling very blessed because we fared the storm with very little damage and no power outages.  The winds here were pretty bad.  It seemed they were constant for at least 3 or 4 days and nights.  At one point the wind sounded like a freight train passing in the night.  My lawn is carpeted with brilliantly colored leaves.

Here at Embroidery Fashions Boutique we have many custom embroidered fall themed items. The Give Thanks apron is just right.  The 24 inch,  two pocket apron is embroidered with beautiful fall leaves and the saying is simple; but meaningful, Give Thanks.  That is exactly how I feel.  Thankful that neither I or my family and friends did not experience enormous damage from the storm.  We are blessed.

It's Pumpkin time

This week's ESN scavenger hunt blog theme is pumpkins.  It's like going to a Pumpkin patch to choose just the perfect pumpkin; but, instead we are hunting for pumpkin themed items listed on the eCrater Stores Network.

The first pumpkin product I found was from Twilight's Slumber.   The Halloween Twilight Strangeling Fairy is hand painted and about 4 1/2".

Visiting Eccentric Thrifter I choose the Autumn Harvest Basket Flag.  It features a basket of colorful fruits, flowers, vegetables, and of course pumpkins.

From my store, Embroidery Fashions Boutique, I choose the Thanksgiving pumpkin pie custom embroidered apron.

All are welcome to visit  eCrater Stores on the ESN.

BLOG-A-RAMA - eCrater Stores - Thanksgiving apron

Today I received an email concerning our Thanksgiving dinner plans.  After all Thanksgiving is only eight weeks away.  This will be the first year that one of the chickens (the moms are the hens; the daughters are the chickens; and the granddaughters are the chicks) will be hosting our annual Thanksgiving dinner.

Of course, I'll give her one of our embroidered Thanksgiving aprons as a hostess gift.  Hands down my choice is the Thankful I Should Be For my Friends and Family Thanksgiving apron.
